Desert Survival Training

French Deseret Survival Proficiency Training Exercise July 2006 - Djibouti, Africa
For 10 days, Marines from 4th PSC took part in a joint forces exercise on the basics of Desert Survival Training in the Djibouti region which was conducted by the French Marines. The training detailed the hardships of desert survival training along with the physical and emotional endurance of hauling military equipment over long and trecherous distances throught the many varied landscapes of Djibouti. These pictures were taken just after the Marines had arrived back at the QRF lot; sweaty, fetid and unshaven because of water conservation, the Marines were upbeat and happy to have taken part in the endurance exercise. Every Marine I spoke with had only good things to say about their teachers, fellow Marines and the countryside of Djibouti and would recommend the training "highly"
